Arizona Urological Institute is proud to announce that we are the first in Arizona to perform the EchoLaser® procedure for BPH.
What is EchoLaser® TPLA™ Transperineal Laser Ablation?
EchoLaser TPLA™ is a micro-invasive, ultrasound-guided treatment for Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), using fine needles for precise laser ablation without touching the urethra.
How It Works:
- Uses thin needles guided by ultrasound to target the prostate—no cutting or touching the urinary tube (urethra)
- Laser gently heats and treats the extra prostate tissue
The doctor watches the whole procedure in real time for accuracy
Procedure Steps:
- You lie on your back as for a regular exam
- A thin tube is placed in your bladder to help see the urethra
- Your prostate is measured, and the area is numbed
- The laser treats the enlarged area through the skin—no cuts in the urethra
Benefits to you:
- Most men keep normal ejaculation, erections, and bladder control
- No need for full anesthesia—just local numbing
- Usually takes just a few minutes
- Less pain and quick recovery; you may not need to stay in the hospital
- Safe for men with higher health risks
